Create a Ravenna profile. You’ll use Ravenna to register for a school tour, complete your online application and to submit the $100 application fee and all supplemental materials. Required materials include a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport and the ISAAGNY School Report Form for Preschool applicants who are currently enrolled in a program.
Wait to hear from us. Invitations to schedule interviews will be sent via email to families beginning in October.
Curious, Competent Learners
Our commitment to nurturing the gifts of each child as an individual provides a warm and stimulating environment where children feel free to explore the world around them. The Brooklyn Friends School Preschool program follows a child-centered curriculum that supports individual learning styles and developmental readiness. Our three and four year-olds meet increasingly complex challenges and practice social skills through hands-on, concrete experiences, and become curious, motivated, and competent learners.
Preschool Threes is the main entry point for new students joining Brooklyn Friends School. Class size increases in Preschool Fours, and we welcome applications for these limited spaces. The admissions process for our Preschool program begins with the creation of a Ravenna account and the submission of an online application.
Families who apply by September 30th will be contacted in October about next steps. Applications submitted after the September 30th deadline will be held in the event additional interview spots become available. We recommend submitting supplemental materials in a timely fashion and attending a school tour regardless of interview status as families can be invited to schedule an interview at any time throughout the season. Only applicants who are invited to schedule an interview will be asked to pay the $100 application fee.
Threes children must be 3 years old and Fours children must be 4 years old by September 1 in the year they start school.
It may be necessary to submit an application prior to visiting Brooklyn Friends School as most school tours will take place after the submission deadline, which is September 30.
If your family is eligible for legacy status, you will be invited to schedule an interview as long as the application is received by September 30, 2017. Early Notification is available for legacy applicants to Preschool Threes and Fours. The expectation for families who choose Early Notification is that if the child is accepted, the child will attend Brooklyn Friends School.
If you submitted an application and fee for the Preschool Threes program for the 2017-18 school year and your child was placed on the waitlist, you may submit an application for the Preschool Fours program for the 2018-19 school year without paying the application fee. If you are applying to a new division this year, the non-refundable $100 application fee is required when you submit your application.
