Brooklyn Friends School is located in Downtown Brooklyn, three blocks from the Brooklyn Bridge and ten minutes away from Wall Street in Lower Manhattan. A vibrant city campus, our school is surrounded by municipal and judiciary buildings, four colleges, cultural institutions, leading social service agencies, large corporations, and a thriving retail district. There are nine different subway lines within short walking distance to our doors.
BFS is thrilled to have our new three-floor, 40,000 square foot Upper School facility at 116 Lawrence Street in MetroTech, just a block away from our Pearl Street building for Preschool through Middle School students.
Our home on Pearl Street, for Preschool through Middle School classes, boasts 45 classrooms, two libraries, two media centers, five science laboratories, two dance studios, two gymnasiums, six art studios (including a woodshop and ceramics studio with kiln), cafeteria, rooftop playground, and a 280-seat theater.

Our Upper School campus is located at 116 Lawrence Street, a business, academic, and tech hub in Downtown Brooklyn. Spread across three floors, the new Upper School building provides a setting that supports a broader and deeper curriculum.
With more than 40 classrooms, seminar rooms, and faculty offices, as well as four visual art studios, three music studio classrooms, four science laboratories, a black box theater classroom, dance studio, fitness center, state-of-the-art research library, and café, our students benefit from a thriving, academically enriched Upper School and International Baccalaureate program.
BFS signed a long-term lease for the property in October 2013, and the project will be financed primarily by a loan from TD Bank, which will be paid back through a multi-year capital campaign with support from BFS trustees, alumni, parents, and community members.
The Family Center at Brooklyn Friends is located at 189 Schermerhorn Street in a brand new, ground floor early childhood facility. Learn more about The Family Center by visiting their website here.
