A Joyfully Warm Day on the Ice

It was a cool and dreary December day in Prospect Park, but the Brooklyn Friends community didn’t feel a single chill. We were warm and joyful together at SkateFest! On Saturday, December 11, 2021, nearly 400 friends came together to skate, drink hot chocolate, and enjoy each other’s company. While students, families, and colleagues (and Pearl the Panther) hit the rink, Middle and Upper School student volunteers engaged younger students with face painting and temporary tattoos. Thanks to all who attended, volunteered at, and supported this community celebration! We can’t wait for the next one! Enjoy some photos from this joyful day below.

A special note of SkateFest gratitude:

Thank you to our family and student volunteers who helped at the celebration and to the Brooklyn Friends & Families (BFF) SkateFest Planning Committee: Kelly Bracher, Emily Cowles, Katie Murray, Sowmya Rao, Sharon Reid, Molly Small, Jodi Utz, Tracey Wells-Schneps, Candy Willcocks, Joy Williams, and Rachel Zeig-Owens. A huge Blue Pride cheer goes to Ed Filusch for embodying Pearl the Panther for the day!
