BFS Seniors Open Culminating Art Show

Thursday, April 11 was a remarkable day at the Upper School as our student-artists and colleagues unveiled the Senior Visual Art Show at a special reception. Over the past two years, our talented students in the Class of 2024 have immersed themselves in studio practices, exploring diverse materials, subjects, and concepts, each discovering their distinct artistic voices along the way. Heartfelt congratulations are due to our seniors for the remarkably impressive body of work! Art Department Chair Sinae Lee addressed the seniors directly, commending them by saying, “Your artistic voice and vision are inspiring, and I encourage you to keep making and sharing your art after you graduate.” Head of School Crissy Cáceres also spoke, emphasizing the societal impact of their work: “You are questioning societal realities, challenging us to think differently… there is activism in your art. That is what I want to applaud you for. It so beautifully reflects the essence of who we are as a school.” This celebration not only honored the artistic achievements of our seniors, but also highlighted the profound impact of art in shaping perspectives and opening minds. The Senior Visual Art Show is on view at the Upper School through May 10.
