There are moments in time when you have the privilege of sending a message that is truly transformative. This is one of those moments for the future of Brooklyn Friends School’s focused vision and strategic direction.
I am thrilled to share that our school has just finalized the purchase of 383-393 Pearl Street, the building on the corner of Pearl and Willoughby Streets and adjacent to our current Pearl Street campus, once occupied by ASA College. This acquisition signifies a monumental step in our relentless pursuit of delivering an unparalleled educational experience for our students.
Throughout our enduring 156-year journey, Brooklyn Friends School has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of our students and community members with a steadfast and Quaker values-informed commitment to Downtown Brooklyn. After thorough evaluation and planning, with the counsel of expert advisors, and with an unwavering dedication to our Mission, the Board of Trustees has approved the acquisition of this building as a pivotal step forward in fulfilling the school’s bold Strategic Vision, which was co-created by our BFS community and stakeholders and unveiled this fall. The purchase of 383-393 Pearl Street will enable us to consolidate our operations onto a single campus and will serve as a catalyst for heightened collaboration, courageous educational innovation, and an even stronger sense of community.
