Location Details

We are hosting the Gala at LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park.

It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the entrance of Prospect Park at Lincoln Road and Ocean Avenue to the venue at LeFrak Center at Lakeside. Walking directions can be found here.

Yes! We are pleased to provide a limited number of pedi-cabs from the entrance of  Prospect Park at Lincoln Road and Ocean Avenue to the event venue. When guests are ready to leave, the pedi-cabs will once again be available to drive you out of the Park and back to Lincoln Road and Ocean Avenue. While there will be a limited number of pedi-cabs and some waiting time can be expected, the pedi-cabs will run for the duration of the Gala. Look for the Brooklyn Friends signs to locate the pickup locations.

There are no parking garages or lots affiliated with the venue. Here is a map of nearby parking garages and lots.

The venue is open-air, but is also covered. In case of rain, guests would be affected while arriving and departing the venue, but the event space itself is covered.

Attire

The suggested attire for Friends Together Again is cocktail.

Food & Drink

  • The celebration is not a seated dinner, but will feature plentiful passed hors d’oeuvres, buffet stations where food is plated by a staff member for safety, and a spread of dessert options.
  • Dining choices will be available for most diets, including those who require vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Guests at the celebration will enjoy a full premium open bar featuring top shelf liquor, beer, wines, as well as non-alcoholic options such as soda, tea, and coffee. Guests do NOT need to bring cash for the bar.

The Program

  • The event runs from 7pm to 11pm.
  • The basic schedule is as follows:
    • 7pm: the celebration begins and guests eat, drink, mingle, and enjoy the evening
    • Approximately 8:30pm: dance and musical performances featuring BFS students, a formal program celebrating honoree Sara Soll, and an opportunity to make a donation to launch the Sara Soll Student Engagement Fund
    • Approximately 9pm to 11pm: food, drink, and dancing (a DJ will be on hand to take requests and get the party started)

Tickets & Support

The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, April 29, 2022.

Price should not be a barrier to attend Friends Together Again, a community fundraising celebration. We are pleased to offer a Community Ticket that is available to any BFS community member who needs it. Details are available on the BFS website.

All colleagues are invited to attend the Gala free-of-charge. We encourage BFS families to donate colleague tickets so that all BFS colleagues may attend the celebration free-of-charge and so that we can maximize the funds raised for Brooklyn Friends. Because the event is open to all interested colleagues, families can not sponsor a specific colleague. However, they may donate the ticket in HONOR of a specific colleague. Simply email gala@brooklynfriends.org after making your purchase to notify us and we will let the colleague know that a ticket was donated in their honor!

COVID-19 Safety

Yes. All guests at the celebration must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at check-in.

As you are aware, our event will be held outside (in a covered area) at LeFrak Center in Lakeside in Prospect Park. To prioritize health and safety even further, out of an abundance of caution, we are asking that everyone attending the gala self-administer a rapid COVID test prior to arriving at the event on Friday evening. It goes without saying that anyone who tests positive or is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend. As we are counting on the integrity of our community and utilizing an honor system of self-reporting, no proof of the test results will be required to enter the event.

In the event that you do not have access to test kits, please contact us and we will arrange a time that you can pick one up from school.

LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park is an open-air venue (with a roof). It was chosen for many reasons, one of which is safety around COVID-19 that is encouraged because of fresh air flow.

Friends Together Again, like Brooklyn Friends, is mask friendly. Masks are optional at the event.

If you are unable to attend Friends Together Again because of a positive COVID-19 case for you or in your immediate family, you have the option to convert your ticket(s) to a donation or to receive a refund. Please contact us at gala@brooklynfriends.org.

Other Questions

Friends Together Again is for the adults in the BFS community. Because alcohol is served at the event, guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. No students are allowed to attend, other than those who are performing.
