BFS Holds Joyous Black History Month Dinner

More than 200 people packed into the Lower Gym at Pearl Street on the evening of Friday, February 16 for BFS’ Black History Month celebration of Literacies, Legacies, and Leadership. In an evening complete with community, singing, dancing, and a whole lot of delicious food, there was an important message that was delivered by Head of School, Crissy Cáceres. “This could not happen everywhere,” she said. “Right now there are spaces that are restricting Literacies, Legacies, and Leadership, that represents the melanin in this space. … So tonight we will sing, dance, celebrate, and shine a light on that—and then we will act, like we always do. Like we always do.” You can watch a video feature from the event here.
