BFS Announces Important and Historic News
As we re-enter from our Winter Break and into 2024, BFS is overjoyed to announce a significant milestone for our school community—the introduction of financial support for families of Preschool students.
As you know and have experienced, at Brooklyn Friends School, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment for all. However, recognizing the financial considerations families face when enrolling their children in preschool, we are proud to announce this opportunity to provide fiscal reinforcement for our families with children currently in preschool as well as those of you who would like to explore enrollment for your preschool-aged child now or in the near future.
This initiative will expand our existing financial support, which currently provides access to the financial aid process for rising Kindergarten families. With the full support of our Board of Trustees, we are launching a financial need-based grants program for families within our Preschool Twos, Threes and Fours Programs. We firmly believe that financial constraints should not be a barrier to providing your child with a nurturing and enriching early learning experience. Now, families of all Preschool students will be eligible to apply for financial assistance from the start of their admissions process.
Beginning in the 2024-25 school year, grants will be available for all families who qualify for support. Interested families must enter into the financial support application process through Clarity, at which point, eligibility for grant assistance will be determined. Once an application is designated as eligible, BFS will assess the amount of the grant to be offered in time for submission of enrollment contracts.

If you are interested in exploring a new admissions application to our Preschool for the 2024-25 school year, please reach out to Vanessa Reynolds, Dean of Financial Aid and Associate Director of Preschool Enrollment, at vreynolds@brooklynfriends.org to inquire. Please note, not all families who apply for grants will qualify, however every family who qualifies and receives an enrollment contract will receive some level of assistance. Families who have complete Clarity applications by Friday, January 19th will receive financial support decisions by Friday, January 26th.
