The BFS at 150 Anniversary Gala & Alumni Weekend

In September of 1867, Brooklyn Friends School opened its doors to 17 students at the Brooklyn Monthly Meeting House on Schermerhorn Street. Teachers guided by Quaker values, supported our children, bringing out the Light in each individual. This tradition continues today and this school year Brooklyn Friends recognizes its 150th anniversary.

The culminating events of the year will be our Sesquicentennial Gala celebration on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Brooklyn Museum and Alumni Day on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The special 150th Anniversary Gala will bring past and current members of our school community together to celebrate this significant milestone and honor the generations of faculty and staff who have supported each child that has passed through our doors. While the event is certainly a celebration, the Gala will continue to serve as the main fundraising effort for financial aid at Brooklyn Friends School.
