Can Brooklyn Friends receive matching gifts?
Yes! As a 501c3 organization, Brooklyn Friends School is eligible to receive matching gifts. Double or even triple your gift to the Brooklyn Friends Fund by requesting a matching gift from your employer. Contact your human resources office to find out if your company offers matching gifts.
How will my donation be spent?
A Brooklyn Friends Fund gift is unrestricted support that provides money for the current budget and has an immediate impact on the day-to-day vibrancy of the school. It helps to fund everything from competitive colleague salaries and financial aid to books and computers, athletic programs and curriculum enhancements.
How much should I give?
A key factor in the success of the Brooklyn Friends Fund is that every family gives according to their means. Last year donations ranged from $1 to $100,000. All gifts, regardless of size, have an impact on the school and are greatly appreciated.
Why is participation important?
Supporting the Brooklyn Friends Fund is a vote of confidence in the school. Your participation inspires others to give in our community and giving is part of who we are – a Quaker, values-based institution. Colleagues participate in the Brooklyn Friends Fund because they continue to believe in the community. Giving to the Fund, at any level, signals a belief in the education program and mission of BFS.
