BFS Giving Day is our community’s single largest day of philanthropy on which all members of our community – parents, grandparents, friends, colleagues, and alumni – make a gift or pledge to the Fund for Brooklyn Friends School and, in doing so, ensure that every child in our school has a creative, engaging, and empowering educational experience. Giving Day is about so much more than raising funds. Giving Day provides us the opportunity to join together in a collective expression of community and generosity. This year, BFS Giving Day spans a 24-hour period of November 20-21, our final days of school before Fall Break. The official countdown to Giving Day will begin one week prior on Monday, November 13. All gifts received during that week-long period will be counted towards our Giving Day goal! For Giving Day 2023, BFS has set an ambitious goal of securing 156 gifts across all members of our community, one our most ambitious goals for BFS Giving Day to date!

Who can participate in Giving Day?

Everyone! Brooklyn Friends is a participatory community, where every member counts. As such, we continually strive to have all members of our community be active participants in the success of the Funds for Brooklyn Friends School. We are stronger together!

How much should I give?

While there is no gift too big or too small, we encourage all members of our community to make a contribution at a level that feels meaningful to them. How will my contribution to Giving Day be used?

All contributions will be directed to the Minding our Light campaign for the Fund for Brooklyn Friends School, the first step in our journey to realize the aspirational outcomes of our Strategic Vision. Minding our Light celebrates—and seeks to strengthen—how our Light illuminates and reflects in every facet of who we are: our academics, athletics, arts, our pillars, our colleagues, and our home. While school tuition covers the majority of our annual expenses, contributions to the Fund for Brooklyn Friends School enable us to grow and expand our students’ and colleagues’ experiences through direct investments in our people and programming that tuition does not cover.
