Held in the United Nations General Assembly, this year’s conference topic was Media’s Influence: Opinions, Activism, and Outcomes.
The impressive line-up of speakers included film director Casey Neistat, UNICEF Global Director of Communication Paloma Escudero, Facebook Global Agency Team Director Trevor Johnson, New York Times Editor Susan Chira, journalist and author Buzz Bissinger, and Vice founder Suroosh Alvi.
More than 300 students from all over the world, along with the upper classes at the United Nations International School, examined the influence of media on perspectives, actions, and social changes in today’s society. This was the second year in which there was a half day international celebration featuring international performances and a cultural showcase in the Sylvia Howard Fuhrman Auditorium at UNIS.
