Discover Camp Brooklyn

At Camp Brooklyn at Brooklyn Friends School, we create a joyful and warm environment that celebrates each camper’s unique identity. We encourage exploration, curiosity, creativity, and SUMMER FUN. Embracing the vibrant spirit of our Brooklyn home, our summer camp features exciting field trips, from sites in Downtown Brooklyn to Manhattan Beach. Every day at Camp Brooklyn is packed with dynamic activities such as sports, team-building exercises, STEM projects, arts and crafts, water play, and outdoor fun on our rooftop playground. At a Glance

  • Camp Brooklyn is for children ages 3 (by June 1, 2025) to rising 4th grade (in September, 2025). Children must be fully potty trained.
  • Camp Brooklyn joyfully welcomes both BFS and non-BFS students. 
  • We offer three two-week sessions. The exact Camp Brooklyn dates and fees for summer 2025 will be announced soon. Children can join us for one, two, or all three sessions. While campers will settle into routines each day, each of the three sessions also offers new and exciting experiences!
  • The Camp Brooklyn day runs from 8:30am to 3pm. An extended day option is available each day from 3 to 5:30pm. 
  • Camp Brooklyn is located at Brooklyn Friends School’s campus in vibrant Downtown Brooklyn with nine different subway lines within a short walking distance to our doors.
  • Camp Brooklyn follows NYC Department of Health guidelines for safe adult to camper ratio.

A Day at Camp Brooklyn

While no two days at Camp Brooklyn are the same, a day at Camp Brooklyn might look like:

  • Morning community gathering time
  • Choice time
  • Snack
  • Sprinkler/roof playground play
  • Lunch
  • Recreation Games/STEM Activities/Arts & Crafts/Music and Rhythm
  • Afternoon community gathering time
  • Mystery guests
  • And trips on special days!

Camp Brooklyn Details

Camp Brooklyn fees for summer 2025 will be announced soon.

  • All campers must be up to date on required immunizations
  • Campers must have a physical exam and proof of vaccination to attend camp. Forms and instructions are provided at registration

  • Campers bring their own lunch to camp. Snacks will be provided by Camp Brooklyn, and students are welcome to bring their own snacks (candy and gum are not permitted).
  • Children must be fully potty trained to attend Camp.
  • Campers sign up for the minimum of one two-week session.
  • Students in grades K to 4 will take a bus to experiences in and around Brooklyn. Our Preschool campers take walking trips to nearby parks and sites. 
  • Extended day is available for an additional fee from 3 to 5:30pm each camp day. Extended day is not available on a “drop-in” basis. A charge of $35 will be added to a campers’ account for a late pickup. 
  • Cancellation policy: registration fees are refundable up until May 1, 2025, less a $100 cancellation fee. No refunds are available after May 1, 2025.

Camp Brooklyn at Brooklyn Friends School centers children in a warm, caring, and inclusive environment that encourages them to explore, be curious, create, and have fun. Our Camp colleagues provide children with strong and supportive role models, fostering community, empathy, and a strong sense of wholeness and well-being.  When available, positions at Camp Brooklyn will be posted to the Brooklyn Friends School Careers site.
