A visit to our art show

Preschool Grandparents and Special Friends Day, on May 21, 2015, was a joyous celebration for our community. We were thrilled to welcome more than 200 guests to the second floor for a beautiful morning of art, music, and exciting classroom time together.

Now in its 8th year, Grandparents Day is one of the most exuberant and joyful occasions of the school year.  The day started with breakfast, followed by a musical performance by the fourth grade in the school’s meetinghouse, and a welcome from Head of School Larry Weiss. Photos of the new upper school building under construction were also on display throughout the day. After spending time in the preschool classrooms with the children and their teachers, the special guests joined their young grandchildren to visit the school’s annual all school art show in the lobby and lower gym. The guests were overwhelmed by the significance of the efforts of our children in their artwork—from paintings and cardboard figures to woodworking and pottery.

As the guests left the building they thanked Preschool Head Maura Eden for this wonderful opportunity to join in this extraordinary day. The comments were consistent—“a fabulous event, we can’t wait for the next one!”
