BFS Musicians ‘Mesmerize’ at U.N. Event

On Friday evening, a group of BFS musicians performed at the 75th Anniversary of the Quaker United Nations Organization at the Scandinavia House in Manhattan. Middle School and Upper School singers, directed by Stephen Buck, and the Upper School Jazz Trio, directed by Stephanie Mayer and Tyler Bauer, put on performances that were referred to as “absolutely mesmerizing” by the General Secretary of the American Friends Service Committee, Joyce Ajlouny. Brooklyn Friends School was the only school invited to perform at this prestigious event. “Brooklyn Friends—look at them. They’re making a difference,” said Sarah Clarke, the Executive Director of the Quaker United Nations Office New York.” Congratulations, friends!
