Applying to
Grades 2-4

Fostering Academic Achievement & Unique Potential

In our Lower School, subject matter in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, Spanish, information technology, and media literacy flourishes in an environment that also prioritizes visual arts, woodworking, dance, music, and physical education. To develop the unique potential in each Lower School student, teachers not only seek to foster academic achievement, but also to stimulate critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and emotional intelligence.

Applying to Grades 2–4

A Brooklyn Friends School application includes several required components. To help you stay organized, please refer to the steps listed below.

Families must create a Ravenna account to access our online admissions portal. Once your account is active, you’ll be able to view detailed requirements, complete application steps, and register for admissions events.

Grades 2–4 Steps

To apply to 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Grade, your child must be seven, eight, or nine years old, respectively, by September 1, 2026. Admissions to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade are attrition-based. 

  • PRELIMINARY APPLICATION
    • Applications open during the first week of September. Please register in Ravenna and submit the non-refundable application fee. 
    • Deadline: November 21, 2025
  • ACADEMIC RECORDS
    • Download the Transcript Request Form in Ravenna and print or email it to your child’s current school for request records from 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and Fall 2025. 
  • ISAAGNY SCHOOL REFERENCE FORM
    • Delegate the ISAAGNY School Reference Form to your child’s current teacher via Ravenna. 
    • Deadline: January 8, 2026
  • CLASSROOM VISIT
    • Appointments will be available in Ravenna.
  • PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW
    • Interviews (either in-person or on Zoom) will be conducted for families who submit a preliminary application by the deadline. Appointments will be available on Ravenna.
  • FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION
    • Families who would like to apply for financial aid must submit an application in Clarity. 
    • Deadline: January 8, 2026
  • OPTIONAL: ATTEND AN OPEN HOUSE
  • OPTIONAL: ATTEND A LOWER SCHOOL TOUR
