Get in Touch with Your Inner Poet
April 8, 2014

It seems like every month there’s something new to celebrate: National Pig Day, International Women’s Day, Go Green Week, Pi Day, and the list goes on!
April is no different. Since 1996 poets, book lovers, librarians, and teachers have been celebrating National Poetry Month.
Take our poll here and test your knowledge on National Poetry Month.
There are lots of ways you can celebrate:
- Visit Poets.org
- Celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day
- Read a book of poetry. (Visit the BFS library to browse one of our poetry displays or ask a librarian for poetry recommendations. You can search the library catalog, too!)
- Listen to a poem
- Memorize a poem
- Write or create your own poetry
One way we’re celebrating National Poetry month at BFS is by creating book spine poetry. You can browse the 2014 Book Spine Poem Gallery for inspiration or see what we’ve been up to in library by viewing the slideshow below.
