Congratulations, Class of 2021!

On the warm and beautiful evening of Monday, June 7, 2021, in the middle of Prospect Park, the 56 members of our Class of 2021 graduated from Brooklyn Friends School, held in the light by their teachers, families, classmates, and friends.

Head of School Crissy Cáceres opened the ceremony, followed by messages for the graduates from Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, BFS class of 1984, colleague speaker Oluyai Haynes, and graduate speakers Alexei Brusilof, Cyrah Joseph, and Evelyn Yu. Susan Segal Rai, class of 1959, received the George Fox Distinguished Alum Award, for her long career in civil rights law. Guests enjoyed performances by student musicians Tillie Margolis ’21, Bebe Yaffe ’21, and Mickey N. ’24. The ceremony culminated with the 56 graduates receiving their diplomas from Crissy Cáceres, Chair of the Board of Trustees Ed Oliver, and Head of Upper School Kamaya Prince Thompson. After the final diploma was bestowed, the Class of 2021 tossed their caps towards the sky and came together for joyful hugs and cheers.
