Our Strategic Vision

Book Fair on April 19 & 20

April is We 💙 BFS Libraries Month! Celebrate with us at our book fair on Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20 (7:30am to 5:30pm each day).

Our Brooklyn Friends and Families (BFF) Friends of the Library Committee, in partnership with our library colleagues and local independent bookstore McNally Jackson, is excited to bring back this annual Fair for which 20% of all sales will be contributed towards vital library programming at BFS.

Special Event with Idra Novey on Wednesday, April 19 at 7pm

We are excited that the Book Fair will include a special event on Wednesday evening, April 19, at 7pm in the Library at 375 Pearl Street. We will host a book chat for families with award-winning author and BFS parent Idra Novey about her new novel Take What You Need.  The novel was just named a New York Times Editor’s Choice and one of Wall Street Journal’s Best Reviewed Books of March. It was also a CBS New York Book Club Fiction Selection and is NPR’s Nerdette Book Club pick for May. Idra will be joined in conversation with fellow BFS parent and author Iris Cohen. Shopping will also be open at this special event!

Please plan to attend, shop, and support our BFS libraries!

Volunteer at the Book Fair

The Book Fair is led by our BFF Friends of the Library, and its success depends on the volunteer support of BFS families and friends! Please explore volunteer times and options and SIGNUP AT THE LINK.Â
