BFS Celebrates Its 159th First Day of School!

The 2026–2027 school year at BFS—our 159th—is officially underway! On Tuesday, we welcomed our Upper School students back to Lawrence Street with all of the first-day hoopla that they deserve. We celebrated the last first day with the members of the Class of 2027 and proudly watched our ninth graders make their first entrance as Upper Schoolers. 

On Wednesday, Pearl Street came alive with the sights and sounds of Brooklyn Friends School, as our 2-year-olds through eighth graders marched into the new school year. Students, colleagues, families, and family pets were all greeted by Head of School, Crissy Cáceres, leadership team members, and—of course—Pearl the Panther! 

“We know it’s going to be an amazing year, and we thank all of our families and colleagues for making it all possible,” Crissy said.
