A Busy Winter / Spring for Visual Arts
The last few months have been busy and full of enrichment in the world of BFS Visual Arts. This post and all upcoming ones feature some of these meaningful and exciting happenings.
ELISE KAUFMAN – SENIOR CRITIQUES
BFS parent and art professor Elise Kaufman was a visiting artist in January. She focused her times with the department working one-on-one with IB Visual Arts seniors. Elise looked at the whole body of work of 12 seniors and gave feedback to each student-artist. The focus of the sessions was on identifying themes and ideas that weave through each student’s work. Often students and instructors can be very close to the work, as they are immersed in it every day. Having a guest artist/educator with a fresh look at the work as a whole has been a very meaningful and useful experience for the students as they prepare for the IB examinations in April.
A huge thanks to Elise Kaufman for returning this year to work with our seniors. We look forward to having her as a visitor in the future.
