On Friday, Sept. 28, the clinicians from Lice Treatment Center will conduct lice checks for our Pearl Street students. Please keep in mind BFS has a no-head-lice-policy. Students with live head lice or heavy nits will be sent home from school. Rechecks for confirmed cases or students that were absent will be held on Monday, October 1. If your child is sent home for a confirmed case of lice or heavy nits, please contact the nurse’s office to confirm treatment was completed over the weekend.

Brooklyn Monthly Meeting invites you to worship with us on October 14th at 11:00 am. Silent meeting, Quaker Meeting for Worship, which we hold every Sunday morning, lasts about an hour and is always open to everyone. On the morning of Sunday, October 14th, however, we are making special arrangements to welcome Brooklyn Friends School students and their families.
As usual in our meetings for worship, there are no prepared statements or sermons. Instead we sit in silence awaiting divine inspiration. Your children may join with ours in First Day School (Sunday School) that begins at 10:45. At about 11:45, the children come upstairs and join us so they may experience with their parents our mode of worship. Your children are also welcome to worship with you for the hour, starting at 11:00. Childcare is provided for children younger than 4 years.
Following meeting for worship, introductions and announcements, we gather downstairs for refreshments. This is a chance for us to meet and talk with everyone who is part of the Brooklyn Friends School community, especially parents of children who attend the school. Please consider joining us on October 14th. The Brooklyn Meeting House is located 3 blocks from the school, at 110 Schermerhorn Street, on the corner of Boerum Place. We look forward to greeting you on October 14th or on any other Sunday you would care to come.
