Summer Arts at Brooklyn Friends
Summer Arts at Brooklyn Friends School offers a diverse and exciting art experience for children who will be entering grades three through seven in September 2017. Taught by working and exhibiting New York City artists, instructors are selected for their artistic accomplishments, as well as their experience working with children. Under the care and guidance of our staff, children explore their creativity and artistic abilities through an enriched interdisciplinary program. In addition to participating in all of the exciting studio art classes being offered in each session, children go on field trips to NYC’s world-class arts and cultural institutions, including outings to major museums, special exhibitions, and art studios of professional artists. They also enjoy recreational swimming two times a week at the Marriott Hotel pool, they play in two fully equipped gyms and on the rooftop playground at BFS, and have ample opportunities for free play and organized games.
For more information on the Summer Arts program, please contact Summer Arts Director Rachel Webber by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at 718-852-1029, ext. 248.
“The Summer Arts classes were very sophisticated and the teachers/instructors were phenomenally good. There were amazing trips to artists and museums, including MoMA and the Met, and even a visit with David Byrne of Talking Heads. The program director is a blizzard of energy, enthusiasm, and relates very well with the kids.”
