Joining Extracurricular Athletics

Students interested in additional sports activities and clubs can join Athletics+ Basketball, Chess, Dance Team/Pep Squad, Squash, Soccer, Swimming, and Volleyball.

Demonstrate and build school spirit, and learn dance technique and teamwork on our dance team/pep squad. Contact Vanessa Aird for more details.

November-February

Our Squash Program offers lessons and an opportunity to experience this fast-paced sport with Head Pro Adam Walker and his staff on four international regulation courts with glass walls at Eastern Athletic Health Club in Brooklyn Heights.

Adam is ranked 7th in the US Nationals 40+ Division, has been a US Nationals 5.5 Finalist for 3 straight years, and coached 4 US Junior Champions. He is an accomplished coach and program director at Eastern Athletic Health Club. Contact David Gardella for more details.

November-February

In our swimming program, students develop and refine their stroke and breathing techniques to increase stamina and speed in all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). They practice starts and turns, individual medleys, and focus on creating a personalized practice regime with appropriate terminology.

Lessons are held in St. Francis College’s competition-sized pool. Participants are encouraged to bring bottles of water, a towel, bathing suit, and flip-flops. Contact Gary Lawson for more details.

St. Francis Youth Water Polo Swim Club
September-December; January-June

The Brooklyn Heights/St. Francis Water Polo Club conducts training sessions at St. Francis College’s competition-sized pool. Students learn techniques for the sports of swimming and  the strategy, rules, and regulations of water polo. There is a fee to participate, and prior swimming experience is necessary.
