Third Grade Trip to CLEARPOOL (6/1 – 6/2/17)

Clearpool is situated on 350 beautiful acres, 60 miles north of Manhattan. It is part of a network of educational sites managed by Clearpool, Inc. – an education nonprofit committed to developing exemplary educational environments. There is a 25 acre private lake for swimming and boating; hiking trails; a large dining room; lovely dormitory cottages that sleep 24 children in semi-private cubicles; nine classrooms, a children’s library; science laboratories; log cabin, barn, pond, and garden – used for nature programming; an indoor gym, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts; playing fields; an outdoor amphitheater and a Health and Wellness Center.

Our intent for this trip has always been to design a balanced program of environmental experiences and fun-filled outdoor activities that promote collaboration and meaningful learning. Our schedule will include workshops in pond ecology, field ecology and outdoor cooking. In addition, children will go hiking and swimming, do team building activities, and sing at the evening campfire.
